MANDATE.To provide affordable catering and accommodation services to students and visitors.
OBJECTIVE.To ensure 100% provision of accommodation, catering, security and welfare services to students at all times.The Directorate of Student Welfare Services coordinates both Catering and Accommodation departments in the University. Its function is to ensure quality Residential and Food services at an affordable rate. The office makes preference to the comfort of students at the university. The quality of learning is positively correlated to the quality of living in the residential places. In the line with the University t be A World Class University for the Advancement of Humanity, we peg our services on this vision. The student fraternity continues to be our primary clientele and we efficiently respond to their needs at all times. We liaise with other departments to ensure the Security, Peaceful living and personal development are achieved at all times. We aspire to make the university a home for all students where they can enter into dialogue with us to improve the quality of services. We can do this with the full good will of the students. Partnership with the students is vital for the good order, maintenance, and intervention of their needs.The directorate, with its departments and committees will include students in their processes. This will include ensuring quality services at both the University and outsource Catering Services. The team will facilitate students’ safety and comfort by ensuring that the rules in the service areas are maintained.
The Directorate offers excellent catering and accommodation services to both local and international students. There are also kitchenettes available to students who wish to cook for themselves. We prepare an all rounded student in areas of academics, spiritual, social, professional, and personal growth.

DIVISION OF ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

 

Egerton University wishes to inform ALL candidates who qualified for the conferment of various degrees and award of diplomas of Egerton University during the 2017/2018 academic year that the Graduation Ceremony will take place on Friday 15th June 2018 starting at 9.00 a.m. at Njoro Campus. ALL GRADUANDS AND GUESTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE SEATED BY 8.30 A.M.

1.         ORDER OF NAMES ON CERTIFICATES

The University will produce and issue certificates within one month of       graduation. To enhance accuracy and speed of the processing of certificates,             prospective graduands are required to visit  graduation.egerton.ac.ke fill and       submit  their Registration Number, Order   of Names, County of origin,             National Identification Number and Mobile Phone Number by 29th May          2018.  The full names MUST be in the order in which they shall            appear in the    final certificate (without initials) and should be the same as in previous            certificates, admission letter supported by the national identification card.

2.         FEE CLEARANCE

Prospective graduands are reminded that certificates shall only be prepared for  students who have satisfied examiners in their studies and whose names appear in        the graduation booklet.  All prospective graduands are therefore advised to clear with the University before 27th May 2018.

3. REHEARSAL
All graduands who wish to participate in the ceremony and have paid all fees MUST attend the rehearsal on Thursday 14th June 2018 at 2.30 p.m.  All graduands attending the rehearsal should be seated by 2.00 p.m. and be in complete academic attire. All graduands MUST observe Graduation Etiquette, a copy of which is to be obtained from the respective Faculties.


4.         GRADUATION AND ALUMNI ASSOCIATION FEE
Graduands will be required to pay the following fees of which Kes. 1000/= will be Alumni fees.  These fees must be paid at any branch of Kenya Commercial Bank into Egerton University Account No. 110 191 0895 and an official receipt obtained at the Njoro cash office before Wednesday 13th June, 2018.

5. ACADEMIC DRESS
During the ceremony, all graduands will be required to be in full academic attire.  Graduands are required to complete relevant forms before Thursday 14th May, 2018. All hired gowns must be returned by Monday 2nd July 2018, after which a daily penalty of Kes. 500/= will be charged.


6.         INVITATION CARDS
Each graduand will be provided with three invitation cards.  The cards will be issued by the Deans of Faculty on Wednesday 13th June, 2018.

ANNOUNCEMENT TO ALL PROSPECTIVE GRADUANDS FOR THE 38TH GRADUATION – 15TH JUNE 2018

Egerton University will hold its 38th Graduation ceremony on
15th June 2018. The University will produce and issue certificates within one month of graduation.

To enhance accuracy and speed of the processing of certificates, it is the responsibility of each prospective graduand to confirm his/her EXAMINATION RESULTS, ACCURACY and ORDER OF NAMES from their respective Deans’ offices from Monday 14th May 2018.

All prospective graduands are also required to clear ANY FEE ARREARS or CHARGES latest 25th May 2018. Any student who will not have met all the requirements for graduation will have their names removed from the graduation list.

The names of the prospective graduands must be in the order in which they shall appear in the final certificate and should be supported by the FORM IV KCSE certificate.

The closing date for receiving applications for the diploma programmes shall be as determined by the Senate from time to time.Minimum Entry Requirements for Diploma ProgrammesThe entry requirements set out below are only minimum, and they do not in any way, entitle an applicant to a place in the University. Applicants must:

  • Have the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education with an average grade 'C' passed at one sitting from at least seven subjects drawn from subject groupings as specified by the Kenya
  • National Examinations Council or equivalent. Provided that candidates with disabilities will be given special consideration with regard to the number of subjects taken at KCSE.

OR

  • Hold a certificate from a recognized institution with a 'Credit' pass or higher or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution in the relevant field of specialization, acceptable to Senate.

AND

  • Meet additional or specific entry requirements as may be specified by the respective Department, Faculty, School or Institute offering the Diploma programme.
